In this session of alumni talks for the current batch of Green Army members, I outline my journey from clueless and naive BSc student whose world opened up via the peer group of Green Army, to falling in love with ecological science, and finally to my current research work. I give an overview of the State of India’s Birds 2023 effort, as an example of what can be done with a large amount of fun data.
